Across the Channel Prince Albert of Monaco is to wed South African former Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock on 1st July. The engagement has been long anticipated by the people of Monaco who are in full celebration mode that rivals the same level of excitement England had for the recent Royal Wedding. The Mediterranean principality’s last royal celebration of its Crown Prince was over fifty years ago when Albert’s father Rainier married Grace Kelly. The royal wedding was very glamorous, showcasing Grace Kelly’s iconic dress of a full skirt of ivory peau de soie, a fitted bodice made of Brussels lace and embroidered with seed pearls.
