Jane Taylor Millinery on BRIDESMAGAZINE.CO.UK

20th June 2009

'The right hat can transform an outfit from ordinary to extraordinary', says Jane Taylor, creator of beautiful bridal millinery. Jane makes stunning bespoke headpieces as well as her ready-to-wear bridal line, which was created after she found that many brides wanted subtle, similar styles in a lower price range.

Jane pays the greatest of attention to her work, hand dying most of the fabrics to create shades that perfectly flatter each individual client. Often sourcing unique vintage details she spends hours with clients choosing the perfect materials, trimmings and beading for each hat.

'If someone feels good in a hat, it can transform the way that they look,' Jane told us. 'Their neck can look longer, their posture changes; I think that people are prepared to pay for something that makes them look and feel that good.'

And look good they do; Jane's hats are irresistibly stylish and chic, and defy all stereotypes of garish, over-the-top wedding hats. From tiaras to fascinators, the pieces are delicately and carefully made. Furthermore they can all be dyed to perfectly match your gown, making them a stunning finishing touch to your overall bridal look.

Jane's tips for brides-to-be:

- If the dress is detailed, the bride will need a simple structure which could be large or small.

- If the bride has a simple dress, the piece could be really elaborate and exciting.

- If the dress is a vintage dress, cocktail hats often look amazing, especially with antique veiling.
